September 11 is approaching, the day all of the US will remember the terrible catastrophe of seven years ago when a terrorist attack destroyed the World Trade Center and thousands of people were killed. The site of the disaster is still a giant construction site, one day the Freedom Tower is going to stand there as a new landmark for the city of New York. In our States from A-Z section we will this time inform you about the states of Idaho and Illinois, both of which fascinate by being home to some special celebrities. Idaho is, first of all, famous for its potatoes: a quarter of all potatoes in the US is grown there. Illinois is also known as “Lincoln’s land, because Abraham Lincoln, the 16^th President of the United States, lived there until he was elected president and, after his death, was buried in the state.
