The first great political event in 2009 is Barack Obama’s inauguration at 12 noon Eastern Standard Time today. In our Stories and Lifestyle section, read about the activities he has on his schedule until he can officially begin his first term as the 44th president of the United States.

Another important date is January 12, 2009. As of that date, all persons traveling to the US under visa-free travel must register with the new ESTA program. We have informed about ESTA several times already and will do again in this newsletter in our How To section, in order to prevent misunderstandings and misinformation.
