Green card lottery update

The green card lottery 2003 was exciting up to the last minute. After it had already been announced in August that only digital applications would be accepted from now on, the process finally started in August. All applications had to be submitted to the State Department electronically via a special website. The State Department deadline for the submission of the last applications was December 30, 2003. According to official reports from the US, significantly less applications than during the previous years have been submitted over the course of the entire application period. Many people were discouraged by the more difficult conditions, such as digitalizing the photos and submitting the applications online. Just a few days before the application deadline, US authorities reported that the number of participants had decreased by 40%. When this became known, however, the run on the State Departments server increased to the amount that it almost broke down during the last 24 hours before the deadline and accepted hardly any applications. Fortunately, the American Dream had already submitted all applications received before this successfully. And even the applications we received over the last day could, thanks to the programmed automatic transfer, be successfully submitted.

In addition to the individual checking process, all applications were also run through a specially developed program to check plausibility and then submitted automatically and without mistake to the official State Department interface. We printed out the Electronic Submission Certificate for all our customers and will be sending it out via mail within the next days. So all our customers will have their certificate by the end of January.

Due to the decrease in the number of participants this year, the chances of winning for those who did participate should be significantly higher this year and maybe even next year - we are hoping for even more winners among our customers!
