OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES VANCOUVER 2010

Many people world wide are watching the Olympic Winter Games which started on February 12th and will end on February 28th.

The beginning of the Olympic Games were overshadowed by the death of the Georgian bobsledder Nodar Kumaritaschwili who tumbled and got thrown off the toboggan run and hit a steel beam. The paramedics tried to reanimate Nodar on spot, but the 21 years old young man died. The tragic death of Nodar brought up many discussions and at first it seemed that the sledding competition would not take place. But at the end the organizers decided to open the Olympic Games with all disciplines.

The athletes can start in the following disciplines: alpine skiing, biathlon, bobsleigh, cross-country, curling, figure stating, freestyle skating, ice hockey, luge, Nordic combined, short track, skeleton, ski jumping, snowboard and speed skating.

Since the Olympic Games started, people are watching the games with great enthusiasm and everyone is cheering for his or her favorite nation. One cannot say which nation will end up with the most medals, the distribution of the medals changes every day what for sure makes the whole thing more exciting to follow.

Right now, only two days before the Olympic Winter Games are over, it looks like the United States and Germany are among the final three. But how knows, what will happen within the next two days?
