Preface

Over the course of this year, we would like to inform you about US Visa and work permit regulations as well as how to deal with US authorities, in no specific order. This is aimed at giving you a certain basic knowledge, making the decisions of the authorities a little more transparent. Visa denials are often caused by a lack of knowledge about the visa regulations and application procedures. We will focus on those visas that are the most common ones according to our experience and inform you about changes in the current regulations whenever it is necessary. However, a constant update of all the legal changes would probably not be helpful for you at all and also be rather too much for this newsletter.

It may be especially confusing for our customers that work-related visas are being processed by US authorities that usually conflict with each other, each of these can either approve or deny the visa. The classic tourist visas that are issued by the US consulate can be denied at the US borders in case the immigration officers doubt their legitimacy, the same applies to work visas, authorized by the US authorities, that have to issued by the US consulates abroad. The more important it seems to us to make the complicated networks of the authorities as transparent as possible, so you can better understand and maybe even influence their decisions.

Unfortunately, the visa chapters of most application and emigration guidebooks are so complicated that they only convey pseudo-knowledge or legal nonsense that has been copied wrongly from other books. Maybe this will help you to make the necessary corrections. In any case, we would be happy to receive suggestions from your side for what visa questions you would like us to discuss here.
