 January 27th, 2010: first green card of DV-2010 received

Green card winners of the green card lottery dv-2010 can be relieved: The American Dream has received the first green cards to our office in Berlin. Those winners used the address of The American Dream in New York and the green cards were sent to our office in Berlin. Once we receive the green cards, we contact the winners via telephone or e-mail and we will sent out the green cards via insured dispatch. 

We want to wish all green card winners good luck with the up-coming interviews and the first trip to the USA - as a permanent resident.

Nov 29th, 2009: All Applications submitted

The American Dream has submitted the last applications for DV-2011 to the US authorities in the night of Nov. 29th/Nov. 30th, 2009! All our customers will receive a written certificate, issued by the State Department, and containing a personal confirmation number, before the end of the year!

We have checked all other popular green card agencies and have found no other company which offers such an extensive service: Most agencies do not even give you a deadline, and written certificates are not advertised anywhere!

We are proud to be possibly offering the best service worldwide concerning the green card program, and wish all our customers good luck! Within the next few days we will also open our application forms again to accept applications for the new DV-2012 DVLottery!

Nov 20th, 2009: Deadline extended

We have been able to successfully submit all correct applications that have reached us until yesterday. Today, our servers almost broke down due to the large interest in last minute online applications for the dvlottery DV-2011.

We are therefore very happy to announce that we could extend the deadline for all green card applications until Sunday, Nov 29th, 12 noon GMT (i.e. Sunday, 6 am in New York, or Sunday, 8 pm in Tokio).

Please observe that if you are mailing your application by regular mail or courier service, it has to reach our German office on or before Friday, Nov 27th, or our US office on or before Wednesday, Nov 25th (because of the Thanksgiving weekend).

Nov 1st, 2009: First DV applications submitted

The American Dream started submitting the first applications for their customers from around the world today. About 20,000 application were transmitted electronically to the Kentucky Consular Center using a special software developped by The American Dream IT engineers. All customers are asked to apply to "The American Dream" before November 20th, 2009 for this year´s DV-2011 green card lottery. All customers will receive the original certificate issued by electronically by the US State Department, in a printed version by regular mail before the end of the year! This service is included in The American Dream´s regular fees and is a service rarely offered by other immigration agencies.

DV-2011 starts October 2, 2009

New York, NY, September 12, 2009 -- The Diversity Visa program, more commonly known as the US Green Card Lottery, will start on October 2, 2009 and run through November 30, 2009. This was announced today by The American Dream, a leading US immigration agency, with reference to sources at the US State Department.

The congressionally mandated program has been the source of legislative controversy for years. It makes available 50,000 immigrant visas to people from certain countries with low numbers of immigrants to the United States.

Last year, more than half of all applicants were born in a developing country. The top three countries in terms of participation in the lottery were Ghana,  Nigeria and Bangladesh. Together they accounted  for more than 15% of the total number of worldwide winners. The statistical breakdown of the DV-2010 diversity visa program shows the number of winners by country of birth.

Ever since the last presidential elections, interest in the green card lottery has also been growing in Europe. In Germany, 2,188 people won a green card in 2009 - the highest number recorded in the last decade.

Holger Zimmermann, founder of Green-Card.com, explains: "We have seen an increase of more than 50% in applications since Obama was elected President. The Diversity Visa Program brings the American dream closer to people all over the world."

Based on these numbers,  he expects a  total of at least 17 million participants during the 60-day submission period, up from 13.6 million in 2008. 

Sep. 2nd, 2009: Interview notification of green card winners DV-2010

 The interviews for the winners of the green card lottery DV-2010 are starting in October 2009 and will most likely run until September 2010. The first Cutt Off Numbers are released now: European green card winners with the case number 9100 and below can expect to have their interview already in October 2009. If you are among those winners, who will soon have to go to the consulate, you should start to collect all the documents which you have to bring to the interview.  The Kentucky Consular Center will enclose, to the invitation, a list of all necessary documents that you have to take to your interview appointment. If you would like to prepare those documents already now, please have a look at our winner's brochure, where we have given you a detailled list with the documents needed. Furthermore, you can find the information in our winner's forum.

 July 22nd, 2009: The winners of the DV-2010 are notified

The Kentucky Consular Center has registered and notified the winners of the DV-2010 diversity lottery. The winners come from all kind of different countries. There are for example 8,752 winners from Ghana (2008 Ghana had 7,322), 4,059 people from Uzbekistan and 705 winners from Australia.

The American Dream proudly announces 1,513 winners among their customers. This is a new record and we have announced more winners this year than in any other year since 1999.

All winners from American Dream have been notified by phone, e-mail or regular mail and have received their personal winning documents (including the registration code to our online forum and important tips of how to fill out the forms). We congratulate all winners and are happy to assist you with the further application process.

Happy 233rd Independence Day!

THE AMERICAN DREAM has so far notified more than 1,400 winners of the lottery DV-2010, which was held in 2008. Within the next two weeks we expect the US government to publish the official statistics of winners.

Meanwhile, we are still getting a few new winners every day. By the end of July,  all our customers will receive a written result by postal mail. If in that letter it says that you have not yet won, you will receive a special offer to try your luck again at a discounted price.

June 6th: Half of all winners has been notified!

In this last week we were able to notify our 500th winner for this year. We estimate that about half of all winners of the DV-2010 lottery has been notified so far. More notifications are arriving every day, and most likely all winners will be notified by early July.

If you are chosen as a winner, you will be informed immediately via phone and email by our office. By the middle of July at the latest, you will also receive a letter by mail, containing your individual result. If you have been our customer last week, please be patient for a few more weeks! If you need to change your email or postal address, please do so urgently by logging into your account!

May 5th: First Winners announced

For the past two weeks, we have been notifying the first winners of the DV-2010 green card lottery, which ended on December 1st, 2008.

The first customers to be notified were winners from Africa, we have now also been able to contact the first two dozen European winners.

 We expect to receive hundreds of more winning notifications between now and the end of June. If you are currently our customer and expecting the results, please kindly wait until mid-July to receive your final result. If you were not successful, you will receive a special promotion offer to participate again for a very special reduced fee.

On December 1st, the last DV-2010 applications have been submitted on behalf of our customers. We have already sent out the DV-2010 Electronic Submission certificate by airmail to all of our customers around the world. They should arrive by post before the end of the year! For new customers, registration for the DV-2011 lottery, held at the end of 2009, is now open!

November 20, 2008: Final Deadline is Nov 30th

Most of the green card applications by our customers have already been submitted to the US State department. Since this process has been smooth and very efficient so far, we havedecided to extend the deadline to Sunday, Nov 30th. Monday, Dec. 1st, will be the last day to submit applications in the USA, and we will not be able to accept any new applications on Monday, as we cannot guarantee timely processing anymore.

Please also note that due to the Thanksgiving weekend in the USA, this Thursday and Friday, mail delivery in the USA will be limited, and applications by post should not be sent to the US office anymore this week. If you need to apply for your green card by mail, please send to our German office so that the letter will reach us on or before Saturday, Nov 29th.

All our customers will receive the official certificate of participation with the official DVLottery confirmation code issued by the State Department in the month of January 2009. Please make sure your postal address is correct! GOOD LUCK!

October 2, 2008 - DV-2010 Lottery officially starts today

The US State Departments has officially opened the application period for the DV-2010 green card lottery today. The American Dream will start to submit entries within the next days and has just extended the final deadline for the submission of new applications to November 20th, 2008.

New regulations this year effect people born in Russia. For the first time in years, Russians are allowed to take part in the green card lottery again. Also, people born in Kosovo can apply with their real country of birth for the first time ever.

Last year, The American Dream was able to notify exactly 1.437 winners among its customers. This number signified a new record in the 12-year-old history of the company. All regular customers of The American Dream, who have applied at least once before in the last five years, will receive a 20 Euro discount on their application! Good luck!

 

US Immigration reform failed – Green Card Lottery saved!

US Immigration reform has been the hot topic on the US Senate´s agenda for the last two years. President Bush himself had promised such a step during his second term in office. The reform finally failed during a test vote on June 28th, 2007. It is unlikely to be put on the agenda again before the presidential elections in November 2008.

The reform would have legalized more than 12 million illegals in the US. However, it would have taken a lengthy process and the benefit would have been mainly for Mexicans, who cross the border illegally. On the other hand, the reform would have made it harder for family members of legal immigrants to follow into the US and it would also have ended the popular green card lottery– one of the only chances for natives of many countries to legally immigrate to the United States.

Since immigration reform has failed, the green card lottery will last at least for the next two years.
