The term “Green Card” has almost become a dictum in every country diplomatically related to the United States of America. Even schoolchildren know that it is the official term for a permanent residential permission for the United States that can be granted to emigrants wanting to live and work there. Every year different countries are chosen to participate in the lottery that grants 50,000 Green Cards to its winners as long as they are eligible considering the level of education, financial situation or family relations. Though taking part in the green card lottery is not a guarantee to receive a Green Card it definitely raises the chance to receive one and it decreases the suspensions to apply for a Green Card.
