USCIS announces changes effective July 30, 2007
US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has introduced new "direct filing" regulations for the submission of form I-129F, I-131-, I-140. I-360, I-485, I-765 and I-907 effective July 30, 2007. Direct filing simply means that the forms have to be submitted directly to the appropriate authorities and not to a central office that forwards them to the responsible authorities. Please find detailed information about forms and authorities at www.uscis.gov.

In addition, the new scale of fees becomes effective July 30. Several fees for US visas will be raised. For example the green card application/extension (I-90) will cost $370, the fiancé(e) visa (I-129F) $455, the family-based immigration visa for spouses (I-130) $355, the re-entry permit for green card holders (I 131) and the application for work permits for spouses of E or L-visa holders (I-765) $340.
