Situation at the US consulates
The difficult situation at the US consulates, caused by the new regulations for applications (additional forms) and the procedure (interview requirement) - we told you about all this in detail in the last editions - unfortunately hasn't improved yet. On the contrary - the new interview requirement will probably cause significant delays in application processing over the next months. So be prepared for longer waiting times for your visa. Over the past weeks we could observe that people have to wait longer and longer for their interview. So please schedule your own interview as early as possible.
Unfortunately, the situation will still get worse, because there are rumors that the visa department in the US consulate in Berlin will be closed in January. In that case, Frankfurt would have to handle all applications from Germany.
