English » U.S. Visa Services » Immigration Visa - permanent residence permit "green card" » EB-5 Visa - "Immigration Investor Program"
With the Immigration Act of 1990, the fifth employment-based immigration category was established: the Immigration Investor Program.
For the first time, investors could directly apply for a green card.
PLEASE NOTE: Quite frequently, the EB-5 category (immigration visa) is being confused with the E-2 Treaty Investor Visa. Please note that the EB-5 is an immigration status (green card), while the E-2 only allows for a temporary stay in the U.S. (non-immigration visa). Therefore, the requirements for the EB-5 a much higher. Applicants should first consider the E-2 category.
