Число 2012 у програмі "Diversity-visa-program" представляє американський фінансовий рік, що починається 1 жовтня 2011р., та закінчується наприкінці вересня 2012р. У цей строк переможці одержать свою зелену карту.
Програма "Greencard-program" підлягає щорічному перегляду сенатом США, отже вона може виявитись останньою .
