Green card lottery update

On August 19, 2003 the US State Department announced new regulations for the green card lottery. According to an interim regulation that has not become effective yet, applications are to be submitted in digital form in the future. The exact regulations will probably be announced in October, shortly before the deadline. However, The American Dream is already prepared as good as possible for the new regulations.

This year, we will continue to accept only written applications and non-digital photos. The official specifications for digital photos are so complex (exact specifications for format, file size, pixel number, color depth, dpi-number) that The American Dream will only accept real photos and digitalize them correctly to ensure good quality. This means we are well prepared for all further changes from the US State Department or the US Department of Homeland Security that initializes all these changes. In case these new regulations should actually become effective, we will submit your applications in digital form.

Of course, even the US government knows that with these new stricter regulations most applicants can't make it without help anymore. This especially applies to people who do not have internet access or the possibility to process digital images. So with regard to the new regulations the US government has explicitly recommended using professional agencies with "Public Notice 4446:"
