Millions of people dream of immigrating to the United States of America to stay and work there permanently, starting a new and possibly better life. In order to do so they need to be in possession of an American Green Card. There are two ways to obtain an American Green Card: the official way and the Government Card Lottery.

The rules are similar for both ways because the applicant has to go through a complex process, proving their eligibility. Some of the Green Card rules are for example that a candidate has to have a certain level of education, equal to the High School diploma. Another Green Card rule is to make sure that an applicant doesn't have a criminal record and a certain level of financial security. Other requirements are a clean medical bill or the proof of possible family ties. Every candidate has to answer the questions of the official interview as well.

Many ways to get a Green Card

If one doesn't apply through entering the American Green Card Lottery but through the regular way, there are other Green Card rules: applicants wanting to enter for professional reasons need to prove they have a job-offer or potential job, others have to guarantee they are persons of “national interest” or highly qualified regarding their profession. Only if an applicant follows these Green Card rules they are able to become future Green Card holders and enter the United States.
