MORE AND MORE FIREARMS IN LUGGAGE
The Transportation Security Administration – TSA, reported that in 2011 a total of 1238 firearms were discovered and confiscated at airports across the U.S. during the security
check. The owners/passengers intend to bring it secretly on board.
Worrisome is the observation of the security officers that the number of illegally carried firearms have been increasing since 2007. As TSA spokesman John Pistole said “it is astonishing that so many people are not familiar with the general airport security rules.
It is disturbing that ten years after the events of 9/11 passengers still try to smuggle weapons on board of the aircraft”.
The security people discover most of weapons in travel bags and it does not help to try to hide them between clothes or wrap somehow, like most passengers do. By the screening of the luggage such items will to 100% sure be detected.
The transportation of all firearms or weapons of all kinds must be reported, only registered firearms which are unloaded and securely packaged in a certain hard shell container are allowed to be taken in the luggage.
Last December at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport a 73 year-old was charged with a considerable fine for transporting a 22mm Gun, it was loaded and unsecured. The pistol went off while the security guard tried to unload it.
RAILWAY TUNNEL SHOULD CONNECT RUSSIA AND THE USA
In 2030 a railway tunnel should connect Russia and the United States of America. The tunnel will be built approximately 80 meters under the shallow and narrow Bering Strait between the Chukotka Peninsula in Russia and the Seward Peninsula in the state of Alaska.
At this point the two coasts are about 85 kilometers apart. The tunnel will be about 100 kilometers in length, twice as long as the Euro Tunnel which connects the United Kingdom and France.
The initial plans of the Bering Strait crossing date back to 1905 when the French engineer Loic de Laubel proposed to build the tunnel for 7.2 million dollars. Just one year later due to American, French and Russian supporters 6 million U.S. dollars were available to start the construction.
The First World War and the October Revolution of 1917 dashed the hopes, preventing the construction and the project had to be put on hold.
It has to be mentioned that there is little infrastructure around the area, the nearest city is about 1,000 kilometers away.
The current plans project a tunnel as a 6,000 kilometers road link between Alaska and Yakutsk, with a high speed highway, a highway, power lines, pipelines and data cables.
This is a once in a lifetime chance to be able to live in America and experience the rich and...
