What are the requirements for this category?
Only those professors and researchers who are internationally recognized for their outstanding expertise in their respective academic field may qualify for the EB-1B category.
To prove this, the applicant must fulfill at least two of the following criteria:
- Important prizes or awards for outstanding achievements in the respective academic field
- Membership in associations of the respective academic field that require outstanding achievement of their members
- Published material about the applicant's work/research in professional publications, authored by others
- Acting as a judge of the work of others in the same field
- Original contributions to the respective field
- Authorship of scholarly books or articles in professional publications that are being published worldwide
Apart from this set of criteria, anyone may submit additional documentation as evidence of extraordinary ability.
In addition, the following requirement has to be met:
- the professor or researcher has to have at least 3 years of teaching or research experience in the respective academic field
