Who qualifies for the P-1 category?
Foreign athletes or entertainers may qualify for the P-1 category.
Eligible for the P-1 status are internationally recognized athletes or members of an internationally recognized athletic team, who want to perform at an athletic competition in the U.S. Athletic competitions include tournaments, tours, and athletic seasons.
Eligible for this category are also members of entertainment groups that have been internationally recognized for their achievements over a substantial period of time. 75% of the members must have been in the group for at least one year.
