Green Card Lottery Registration

Why did you join the Green Card Lottery?

I have always been fascinated by the USA and after a 1 year stay abroad in the USA I decided to participate in the Green Card Lottery. The American Dream seemed to be a serious and professional organization, so in the end I decided to try it with their help.

How many times in total have you participated in the Green Card Lottery? What was your first reaction after receiving the winning notification?

Twice! I couldn't believe it was the real winning notification, as I also know some people who have been trying for a much longer time.

Green Card Application

How did you experience the Green Card application process?

In the end it was really easy - you just have to take your time and read everything carefully. The brochure from The American Dream provided additional help. The visa interview is no problem as long as you come well prepared and bring all the necessary documents.

The skyline of New York City in the USA

New York is one of the most exciting cities in America.

How did your activation trip look like?

I arrived in New York for the first time. Entering the country was without any problems - just hand the envelope to the officer at the counter, answer two questions and you are done. I spent two months on the activation journey and took care of the basic things - apartment, job and car.

Immigration to America

Where do you live now and what are the differences to your everyday life in Germany? What do you like most about living in the USA?

I'm living in Baltimore, Maryland now. Everyday life does not differ much from everyday life in Germany. You also get up every day, go to work and do the household. But since I found a job with an airline here, I can travel for free and make use of it as often as possible. This would not have been possible for me in Germany.

Baltimore is the largest city in Maryland.

Looking back, would you decide to move to the USA again?

Yeah, definitely.

Would you recommend The American Dream service to other USA fans?

Yeah. It was all smooth with good help.

Do you have some advice for future winners?

Just keep trying, sometimes your luck is closer than you think!
