Below you will find detailed instructions on how to complete your Green Card Lottery application form. Please make sure that all information is complete and that birth dates and names correspond to those in your passport. All mandatory fields in the application form are marked with a check mark and must be completed.
The first step is to enter your personal data such as your name and date of birth. All fields are mandatory and must be filled out. The checkmark turns green if the entered data is accepted or red if the given details are incorrect.
Please enter your first name as it appears in your passport. For example, if there are two first names in your passport, you must enter them here. It does not matter whether only one of the first names is used as your first name.
Date of Birth
There is no minimum age for participation in the Green Card Lottery. However, participants under the age of 16 generally do not meet the necessary educational requirements.
Please provide a valid and individual email address, as we will send you your confirmation of participation, your lottery result and other important news to this address. Therefore, please do not enter the same e-mail address as your spouse's, for example!
Here you can only choose between the options "male" and "female", as the US authorities do not offer the third gender yet. In this case, select the option you feel most comfortable with or as specified in your passport.
Step 2: Details of the main applicant
Please enter your current address in this step. Street names can be abbreviated in the usual way. If your address does not contain a street name, you can alternatively enter your P.O. box.
If you do not have a postcode, please enter "00000" or alternatively an address of a relative or close friend where we can reach you.
If your address should change after your registration, please inform us immediately or change it in your customer account, so that we can reach you in case you win.
City and Country of Birth
Please enter your city of birth as it appears in your passport, as some city names are rarely changed over time. You must state your country of birth within today's borders! As an example:
Attention: Some countries are unfortunately excluded from participating in the Green Card Lottery by the US authorities. However, there is still a possibility to apply if:
You can apply for the Green Card if you have at least a high school diploma (or higher), defined as successful completion of a 12-year course of formal elementary and secondary education.
Alternatively, you may have two years of work experience within the past five years in an occupation that requires at least two years of training or experience to perform.

To participate in the Green Card Lottery, a valid passport has been required since July 2019. Please enter your passport number as it appears on the first page in your passport. The number can contain numbers and digits, which is why you should make sure you distinguish between "0" and "O".
Note: German passport numbers, for example, never contain the letter "O", but always the number "0".
Please also enter the issuing country and issuance date of your passport. You can also find both on the first page of your passport.
In order to participate successfully in the Green Card Lottery, your passport must be valid until at least 10 November 2019. Therefore, please also indicate when your passport expires.
Note: In case your passport expires before the lottery results are announced, you must keep your invalidated passport or a copy of it. If you win, you should be able to prove to the US consulate why your passport number has changed.
You have the option of skipping the passport details and adding them to your customer account later - but no later than 15.10.2020.
For a successful participation in the Green Card Lottery, applicants must upload a recent valid photo of themselves, which meets the following criteria:
With the help of our photo tool you can enlarge, reduce or rotate your pictures and adjust them to the correct size ratio.
However, you can skip uploading the photo at this point and add it to your customer account later - but no later than 15.10.2020.
When you complete the Green Card Lottery application, you must indicate your marital status and the number of children you may have.
You can choose from the following marital statuses:
If you are legally married you must list your spouse on the application form as well. This is necessary even if you are living separately but are not divorced yet. In case you win you decide who will get a Green Card.
You have the option of entering the photo and data of the spouse/child instantly or skipping the step and adding them to your customer account later - but no later than 15.10.2020.
If you are officially married, you must also provide your spouse's details in the Green Card Lottery application. You can add them to your customer account directly or at a later date - but no later than 15.10.2020.

Same-sex spouses must be stated in the Green Card Lottery application if they are married under US law, e.g. possible in Denmark, the USA or since 1st October 2017 also in Germany!
Unfortunately, same-sex partners are not allowed. However, it is also acceptable to marry the registered partner only in the event of a win, so that he/she will then also receive a Green Card.
As the spouse also receives a Green Card in the event of a win, married couples have the opportunity to take advantage of the double chance of winning! All you have to do is register both spouses for the Green Card Lottery!

This also includes any children your spouse may have, even if you do not have custody. If you win, you decide which children will receive a Green Card.
You can enter their details directly or add them to your customer account at a later time - but no later than 15.10.2020.
The exclusion of certain children may lead to a subsequent disqualification in the event of a win.

If you have a currently valid discount code from us, you can enter it here. The amount will be automatically deducted from the total sum.
