I talked about my friend last year in this post. I admire her so much. At 62 she decided to leave her job as an administrative assistant and to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a truck driver. She was attracted to trucks since she was a teenager but never dared to do it. There were always more important things to do (studying chemistry, getting married, being a mom). There was never room for this kind of a dream. And later, it never seemed to be smart to make that move. She thought she was too old.

Dance 'till You Drop

Dance 'till You Drop There is this funny bar in Portland: Bubba’s Sulky Lounge. The first thing you notice when you enter is the original decor. Someone must have raided all of Maine’s antique shops in order to get the very unique and sometimes very funny stuff that you find in this dance bar.

My Friend, the Truck Driver

My Friend, the Truck Driver I have a dear friend. She is American but with German roots. She is one of the few Americans who actually speaks German and lived in Germany for several years, too. She is a little and agile lady in her mid-sixties with long, white braided hair.
