THE AMERICAN DREAM Logo

Before we dive into the land of the American Donut dream, also called "Dunkin' Donuts", we do not want to deprive you of our love of donuts: The team of The American Dream digs donuts and provides clear proof not only on Global Donut Day!

And because we all love donuts aside from the land of dreams, we are introducing DUNKIN' DONUTS as a candidate in our fast food favorites in the following:

Bill Rosenberg opened his first restaurant in 1948 in Quincy, Massachusetts. At that time the restaurant was still called "Open Kettle". The name was changed quickly in 1949 and the restaurant was then renamed "Kettle Donuts" until Rosenberg finally changed the name to "Dunkin Donuts" and with that ended up celebrating a huge worldwide success. The first subsidiary still stands and is in continuous operation – open 24 hours a day. If you are nearby, you should definitely stop by! You can find the exact address at the end of the article in the Key Facts.

Dunkin' Donuts offers a variety of treats. Not only can one get the notorious donuts, but meanwhile the offer also extends to muffins, munchkins, brownies, bagels, sandwiches and hearty croissants. Also different coffee variations are part of the selection and therefore not only pastry lovers are enticed. Whether sweet or salty, big or small – there is something for everybody! What makes it so special is not only the great selection of various sorts and varieties, but also that everything is freshly and lovingly prepared every day – and you can taste it!

DUNKIN' DONUTS DIET

Some people avoid Donuts due to the many calories they contain. But Dunkin' Donuts reacted to the trend towards healthier eating with their DDSMART® program – at least in the America. Customers, who want to eat healthy when they’re on the road, can make use of an offer with reduced fat and at least 25% less sugar. These products are deliberately labelled with calorie specifications so that the customer is able to make a decision consistent with his or her conscience.

Aside from the "classic" and typically American donut with a mere glaze, there are incredibly many and colorful choices in the wonderful world of donuts. If you want to experience the whole range, we recommend going to a store right in the morning before the most popular donuts are out of stock. But then you will definitely be spoilt for choice! By the way – which donut is your favorite? Why don’t you post it as a comment underneath this article! We look forward to it!

Next to the over 11.000 chain stores that Dunkin’ Donuts already operates worldwide, in 2008 a Dunkin’ Donuts store was founded in St. Petersburg, Florida. What is special about the Florida store: It’s a "green" restaurant, which was certified by the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). That means that recycling and environmental friendliness is an integral part of everything there. For example: Certain waste products are used as fertilizer for the local farms and gardens.

"American Dream" Donuts

In cooperation with Dunkin' Donuts The American Dream has something very special for you in October 2015: In all participating chain stores original "American Dream"-donuts are available for all the fans of the American donut taste. We asked you on Facebook which donut creations you would wish for. This resulted in a whole collection with 6 different kinds! The classic is the "American Dream"-donut with the American flag as frosting. Also, there is a "Stars & Stripes"-donut that is shaped like a star and filled with a blueberry-vanilla cream. And is there a donut with peanut butter? Of course there is, we named it "Peanut Party". So don't miss out and stop by and relish our tasty, special American Dream donuts. And if anyone is worried about their figure: Just pick a donut with a hole in the middle – that's the part that definitely has no calories!

Rosenberg once said: "Don’t waste time on reasons why something can’t be done. Find a way to do it instead." With this in mind, use your chance to live your American dream by quickly registering for the Green Card Lottery by October 29th, 2015! We will keep our fingers crossed for you!

1st FITNESS DONUT EATING CONTEST EVER

On Saturday, October 24th the very first "Fitness Donut Eating Contest" took place in Germany: We gave this American trend of "Food Eating Contests" a little twist by adding a fitness element to it. The best teams could win concert tickets for no one less than the Queen of Pop Madonna and her almost sold out Rebel Heart Tour, VIP participations for the current U.S. Green Card Lottery with special treatment by The American Dream and much more!

What does Madonna have in common with donuts after all? Unbelievable but she used to work in a DUNKIN’ DONUTS store before she became rich and famous! Read the whole event report in our "American Dream Blog", one thing is for sure: The contest pictures are worth a look! If you missed the event don’t worry, just check out the pics and read the whole story – they’ll have you as close as can be to the action!
