Who is behind the Green Card agency The American Dream? Who are its founders, how long has The American Dream been an independent company and who are you really in contact with when you call or write an email? We would like to take the time to introduce ourselves and answer any questions you may have about us below.
The company owners Holger Zimmermann and Marcus Sieber founded The American Dream in Berlin in 1996. What is now today an international company with tens of thousands of customers every year started as a university project. The idea started during a stay in the USA when the business and economics major Holger Zimmerman and the law student Marcus Sieber found out that the USA had been giving away Green Cards under the Green Card Lottery since 1994. At that time, many law firms in the USA were providing comprehensive services for the so-called Diversity Visa Lottery.
In Germany and Europe, the Green Card Lottery was largely unknown. With a small budget, the then students began to conduct research at the Freien Universität Berlin to find out how much interest there was in the Green Card Lottery and if there was a need for services in Germany. The response was overwhelmingly positive and that year hundreds of Green Card applications were processed and the founders got to congratulate dozens of winners.
Over the course of the last 20 years, the company has grown into a corporate group accompanying many different service sectors. One of the most important stages of the company’s history was the government licensing of The American Dream emigration consultants through the German Federal Office. This made the company the first private emigration consultation agency in Germany. Another further, successful milestone was the establishment of a spin-off company that processes US visas for private clients and companies. In our headquarters in Berlin, Germany, more than 20 of our staff members are busy processing visas for tourists, emigrants and adventurers as well as businessmen and women, corporations and personnel departments.
